"We recently undertook trials on two ships using a Fitch System fitted to the Caterpillar harbour sets in order to reduce emissions and make fuel savings. After a trial period the results that came in were promising. Comparing consumption and emission readings before and after the fitting of the catalyst significant reductions in emissions were noted and fuel savings were in the order of 7%. This is particularly encouraging in light of imminent atmospheric pollution control regulations rising fuel costs. This is a system that we would consider fitting to all our vessels. "

"Working in conjunction with Energy Management Services, we recently undertook a trial for a period of 35 days on one of our gensets (Wartsila 6L32 with an output of 2.3MW) in order to realize fuel savings. After the trial period, the results that came in were promising. Comparing consumption before and after the fitting of Fitch Fuel Catalyst, significant fuel savings were achieved and the Return On Investment would likely be in the vicinity of 3 to 4 months. That is particularly encouraging in light of rising fuel costs. "
